Girls soccer beat Irving 5-0 at home on Feb. 18. With a 6-1-1 record, the team is now second in the district behind Flower Mound and has played every team in the district once.
“We made it through probably the toughest district in the state,” head coach Robert Vaughn said. “[The] LISD [teams] and Coppell are ranked in the top ten teams in the state. If you don’t finish in the top four in our district, you don’t go to playoffs, but you’re going to have to be a top ten team to make the playoffs — that’s how hard it is.”
Vaughn said the team played well and met its goals for the match.
“They cleaned up possession, and the defense played really well for the shut out,” Vaughn said.
