The Lady Hawks play their first playoff game against Denton Guyer on Oct. 30, at 7 p.m. at Marcus High School.

After placing first in district 5-6A, the volleyball team prepares to face teams and players outside of the district.

“It’s scary, to play [a team] that you don’t know about,” head coach Karin Keeney said. “I think our team is prepared. They always look forward to this time of the year. It’s all high stakes from here on out, obviously; you lose one and you’re out. I’m looking forward to how we react to the tough competition.

The Lady Hawks’ opponent, Denton Guyer, finished the season in fourth place in District 6-A.

“This team that we’re about to see has some good players on it,” Keeney said. “They’re the kind of team that keeps giving you the ball back and waiting for you to make mistakes, so I’m anxious to see if we clean up our side, by less hitting errors, serving errors, things that we can control. It’s up to the kids from here on out.”
