Volleyball continues hot streak in district play
The Lady Hawks beat Lewisville in straight sets (25-17, 25-12, 25-13) Tuesday night at the Hawks Nest. The height disadvantage was easy to tell from the beginning, and the Lady Hawks took advantage of it. Lewisville could barely get a shot back across the net without it being deflected by middle blockers Tamia Reeves and Erin Shultz. Each set was a relatively easy win, but slight errors at the end of each set, such as serves into the net and miscommunication on digs, led to the games lasting longer than they needed to. It’s clear that the Lady Hawks were the better team, but cleaning up the tiny mistakes would be beneficial before they head to the playoffs in three weeks.
The team is now 10-1 in district (25-9 overall) and stands alone in first place, one win ahead of Flower Mound and McKinney Boyd.
