The boys soccer team will play at Lewisville on March 8 at 7:30 p.m., following a 1-1 tie with Flower Mound on March 2. Head coach Taylor Baca said the end result of the game against Flower Mound was disappointing.

“We were in control, leading 1-0 through a goal from Nick Garcia, and never looked like conceding,” Baca said. “However, against the run of play, towards the end of the game, Flower Mound countered and finished a one v. one with our keeper. A win would have put us ahead of Flower Mound, in third place, and in a solid position for playoffs, giving us a little bit of a cushion above the teams in fifth and sixth place. As it stands, we are still in fourth, and need a couple of good results in the next few games to ensure we make playoffs.”

Last time the boys played Lewisville, they lost 2-1. Baca said the team needs to make sure it plays to its strengths on Friday.

“Even though there are only a few games left, the way the standings look today could be very different to how they end up,” Baca said. “We are a team capable of going very far, as long as we take care of business one game at a time. If we show up motivated and willing to fight for each other against Lewisville, they are going to be in for a very difficult night.”
