Coach Stone, along with this year’s varsity baseball team, presented Freeman and his newly wedded wife with a framed jersey. Freeman’s mother, the school’s secretary, delivered the opening pitch to her son to start the game.
Along with the retirement of Freeman’s number, players were asked to bring a teacher who helped they looked up to. Teachers from middle school, the ninth grade campus, the main campus, and even coaches were asked to attend. The pregame festivities were a success as the team beat Lewisville, 3-2, thanks to Derek Mueller’s game-winning double in the bottom of the ninth.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
