Nine easy ways to show appreciation for your partner
It’s summer time and we all know it’s a time to be thankful. Be thankful for the person you’re in a relationship with and how how much you care for them. Here are some super easy but super sweet ways to show that you appreciate your boyfriend/girlfriend.
Make them dinner!
Food is a universal sign of appreciation. Everyone loves food. Sometimes if I’m having a bad day, I feel like food can fix anything. Making someone’s favorite meal is a great way to show how much you care about them.
Make them a handmade card!
Just going to the Dollar Store and picking up a card may be easier, but a handmade card will really show effort. Put a thoughtful note in there and sign it with love!
Complimentary compliments!
Everyone likes getting compliments. It’s a little pick-me-up that brightens your day. Whenever I get a compliment, it makes me happy, and I kind of glow the entire rest of the day. That’s the power of compliments. When you’re complimenting your boyfriend/girlfriend, you really want to be sincere. Notice something about them that you especially like, and don’t be afraid to tell them.
Buy and bring them coffee! (Or a beverage of their choice)
In this day and age, everyone’s a coffee drinker. Even if your significant other isn’t a coffee drinker, get what they like and surprise them with it! This really shows that their happiness is important to you, and that you want to make sure they’re OK. As long as you make sure they’re not busy and won’t get in trouble, bring it to them at work! Nothing helps work like coffee.
Plan for your partner!
Their favorite thing to do? Do it. Do all of the planning for something fun that they like to do, so they don’t need to worry about the arrangements. Even if your partner’s favorite thing to do isn’t your favorite thing to do, keep an open mind. Try to see why they enjoy it. Have fun, and your partner will have fun.
Crafts!
For this one, it’s the thought that really counts. You don’t have to be the craftiest person in the world to make something cool for your significant other. Just try your hardest. Your partner will love whatever you make because it’s from you. Some neat examples are a bracelet, a customized coffee mug, or a cute container full of candy. DIY projects, crafts from handbooks, and creating a craft all your own; they’re all guaranteed to make your partner smile!
Prioritize them!
Something that really shows people they’re important to someone is when someone makes them feel important. Be there for them, and really make them feel like they are a priority. Try putting them first.
Communicate! (In person!)
It’s super cute to tell someone how awesome they are over text, but calling them? Or saying it to their face? That’s amazing! Make an effort to talk more in person with your partner.
Listen!
This one kind of goes along with being there for your partner. If your significant other needs someone to talk to, let them talk to you. Focus on them and be the friend they need. After all, that’s one of the key factors in a relationship, friendliness.
These are all easy things to do, but all of them will show how much you care. Sometimes, it’s the littlest things that will bring the biggest smiles.
