Students place at Visual Arts Scholastic Event state competition
Four students received gold seals at the Visual Arts Scholastic Event state competition on April 28.
The students who received gold seals are seniors Lauren Song and Nasim Dalirifar, sophomore Brittney Fang and freshman Michelle Fang.
“[The students who placed] are eligible for a portfolio scholarship and it looks awesome on college applications, especially for art schools,” art teacher Jennifer Russell said.
The artwork that won gold seals will stay at the state capitol for the time being. The other artwork will be arriving next week along with the medals.
“I think we did really well as a region,” Russell said. “We have one of the highest gold seal counts, which is really nice. Hebron did really well. I took six [students from my class] to state and then five medaled, and I got two gold seals. That’s the best I’ve done in the three years I’ve been here. So that made me really happy.
