Model UN to host first meeting of the year

The Model United Nations club will hold its first meeting on Wednesday during A block in room 2325. This club allows students to prepare for conferences against different schools where they represent countries to debate about international issues through the assigned country’s perspective.

“We came up with it after participating in a class Model UN discussion in [human geography] last year,” sophomore Sanjana Yadav said. “We’re really interested and opinionated in politics; this seems like a good way to put to use that hobby.”

Instead of meeting in the fall, Yadav, along with sophomores Kulsoom Hussain and Sonal Verma decided to start the club now so they can get members more organized and prepared before the conferences next year.

“We want to make Hebron’s Model UN competitive on a regional level,” Yadav said. “And make students more aware of international politics.”
