Fine Arts department announces “Footloose” as all-school musical
The Fine Arts department announced “Footloose” as the all-school musical on Sept. 6. Auditions for the all-school musical will be held place on Sept. 12-14 and all students are able to participate.
“I would say that anyone who has never auditioned for a musical should come out because they’re a lot of fun,” theater direction Ryan Heitzman said. ”My best advice is to have fun with it and to not take yourself too seriously.”
Auditions will take place over the course of 3 days. Auditioners will learn choreography and participate in group singing on Monday, Tuesday will be singing auditions, and Wednesday will include dance auditions and callbacks.
Although some auditioners will be nervous, they will receive a opportunity to share their strengths in singing, acting, or dancing.
“Don’t be nervous, everybody’s nervous,” Heitzman said. “You have to constantly keep in mind that everybody feels and is under the same pressure as you so there’s really no need to be nervous.”
