Mix of bittersweet memories for spring orchestra concert

Orchestra will be performing its annual Spring Concert May 19 at 7 p.m in the auditorium. The concert will feature members from band and will feature nine musical pieces, ranging from Western classics to a tribute to Prince.

“The sound of this performance will be different,” Orchestra president Zoie Keating said. “I think with the mix of the Western and the pop songs and the band and the percussion performing with us, it’s going to be new and different. It’s going to be a lot more fun, to be honest.”

During the concert, the orchestra will invite alumni to perform with them on stage as well as say farewell to their current director, Dawn Oyedipe.

“This concert will definitely be an emotional one since Mrs. O is leaving and this will be her last performance as our teacher and director,” Orchestra vice president Ankita Padarthy said. “But I think orchestra will be continue to be as incredible as it was before, just with a few changes.”

Admission is free.
