The strEATZ & bEATZ food truck, which has served breakfast every Wednesday morning from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. for the last month, will begin serving only lunch after winter break.

According to Community Impact, the food truck was the outcome of the partnership between the Aramark food service provider and the district to provide another dining option for students during the school year and summer. Prices and payment methods are the same as those in the cafeteria.

“Lewisville ISD is always striving to be innovative in every way possible,” district executive chef Robby Hooker said. “We really wanted an innovative way to provide for the needs of our students who are not able to participate in our summer feeding programs. The food truck will allow us to go into their neighborhoods and provide them with hot meals. During the school year, it will be an innovative way to feed our high school students and a fun way to support special events within the district.”

The concept of the food truck is to provide a relevant and fun experience for students through weekly menu changes and built-in speakers which play music.

“The menu changes every week to combat menu fatigue and provide a different choice from what is being served in the cafeteria,” Hooker said. “We also wanted a good sound system so we could play upbeat music to provide a fun and enjoyable environment.”
