The Carrollton Public Library held a Chinese Lunar New Year celebration on Feb. 11 from 2-4 p.m. featuring the Sun Ray Chinese School. There was entertainment, a raffle ticket contest, food and crafts in celebration of the Year of the Dragon.
Elementary students from Sun Ray Chinese school perform a traditional Mandarin song and dance for the guests. They are dressed in red or traditional clothing pieces such as a Qipao with a Chinese knot button; the knots represent happiness, luck, fortune and longevity.
