On Nov. 16, the City of Carrollton partnered with Metrocrest Services to hold a “Saturdays on the Square: Cocoa for Coats” event from 5-7 p.m. People donated coats, hats, gloves and other winter attire in exchange for a cup of hot chocolate and a small goodie bag. By the end of the event, Metrocrest had received 486 coats, not including other winter attire.
“Sometimes you just want to do something good, you know?” said Angela Bruner, a volunteer at the event.
