School holds inaugural Veteran’s Day assembly
On Nov. 11 during second period, the school held its inaugural Veteran’s Day ceremony to honor those who have served the country. Principal Scot Finch spoke of the importance of the holiday, as did JROTC Commander Jeff Williams, Ron Branson, senior class president Adam Halimi and senior class secretary Marissa Attri.
“The kids get the opportunity to talk to [the veterans] and learn their history, learn their stories,” JROTC teacher, Captain Thomas Cacy said.
Veterans from the community came and watched the ceremony alongside the entire school and the Ninth Grade Campus. There, they were able to shake hands and receive thanks from students and teachers as everyone left at the end of the assembly.
